A Purple Graph

Me: Hey, you know that movie Cowboys vs. Aliens?

Brian: Yes.

Me: Is it actually about cowboys?

Brian: Yes.

Me: Oh. Well, does it really have aliens in it? Or is it like an allegory or something? <fingers crossed>

Brian: It really has aliens.

Me: <long pause where I ponder a world with a scenario that that involves both cowboys AND aliens...> Oh. So is it a Sci Fi movie?

He just laughed.

So Cowboys vs. Aliens might be more of a mid-year/Q3 movie; I need to work up to it. However, I am totally loving the movie suggestions, which you can view here. I have a good mix of things I will work up to (like Cowboys vs. Aliens) and things that immediately seem interesting because they come from people who I already know I share similar tastes with. I don't dread watching what has been suggested because I can at least associate it with someone I know, which for some reason makes it more appealing/interesting. I have a decent queue at the moment but by all means, keep them coming.

As I may have alluded, I have some somewhat nerdy tendencies. As Exhibit A to support that claim, I'd like to submit this list of Movie Suggestions by Professional Affiliation. Also, I never make purple graphs at work so I mean, as far as pass-time graphing goes, this is somewhat of a big deal, creatively speaking. Lastly, I despise pie charts, that's why this is a column graph instead, but that's a topic for another post.

  1. Cowboys vs Aliens is already in my Netflix queue. I shall allocate that spot in my two DVD per month plan until your pending arrival.

These are the things I'm willing to do for you.

And I can't wait for the post on why you are anti-pie charts. I find the line graph to the most relevant chart for my life, so I'd like to hear your insight.

  2. I would like to see a pie chart of why you despise pie charts.
